Faculty Guide

Fall 2021 Textbook Ordering Information

Online Course Adoptions (OCA for Fall 2021) opened Monday June 7th 2021.

All faculty and staff who place book orders for FT, Continuing Education, Distance Education and Ontario Learn are required to go to: mohawk.bookware3000.ca/Oca to use the OCA book ordering portal.

Adoptions will continue to be entered by program for Fall 2021. When entering the adoption, you must choose Fall 21 TERM from the menu for Fennell and Stoney Creek.

Individuals responsible for placing orders, please check your dashboards for accuracy of course listings and contact your respective book buyer for changes including: missing courses, instructor/coordinator reassignments and additional courses to be added.

Please note: There is no change for book ordering for apprenticeship courses. Faculty and staff are to continue contacting the book buyers directly by phone or email.

The ordering window for books this term is June 7 – July 30, 2021.

New for Fall 2021: Mohawk College White Label Store (VitalSource)

If using a VitalSource e-text, please indicate in the same manner as you would for “No book required” that you will be utilizing VitalSource.

Ordering timelines for Textbook and Courseware ordering per term are as follows:  

WINTER:                    OPEN October 29   - CLOSE  December 7
SPRING/SUMMER:      OPEN February 22  - CLOSE  April 15
FALL:                         OPEN May 30         - CLOSE  Aug 9

Dates will reflect the timelines that OCA will be open for faculty book ordering.  Please ensure Book orders are placed by CLOSE Date specified.

 Requisitioning of Course Materials  Visit the Book Ordering Application (OCA)  found on MyMohawk, Employee tab, under Requests, Documents, Presentations & Help 

Log onto MyMohawk:   mymohawk.mohawkcollege.ca


Textbook Buyers require:


  • Correct and Current ISBN #

  • Correct Banner Subject  code and Course Code related to the required text

  • that you only order REQUIRED material.  Suggested materials subject to availability, please check with Buyers.

Custom Courseware

This process remains the same.  Please continue to use the Custom Courseware Production Services form to order custom courseware.

Desk Copies

Faculty must purchase Desk Copies on a FOAPOL, which will be returned and credited to the account once the book is retrurned to the Store.

On-Line Ordering

Buy the Book offers e-commerce to students. This allows them to order required materials on line 24 hours a day 7 days a week from a secure site. There is a delivery charge associated with this service.
